Seven sea turtles were released back into the ocean in Point Pleasant Beach Monday after they underwent rehabilitation.

The largest was a loggerhead turtle named Semore.

He was found stranded in New England before he was sent to Sea Turtle Recovery rescue facility in West Orange.

"He had a laceration on his flipper after, we think probably, a boat cut. So we had to have sutures in his flipper, and he also had frostbite on the back of his shell, and he lost part of his shell and had to regrow bone," explained Bill Deer, of Sea Turtle Recovery.

Sea Turtle Recovery has performed 164 successful releases since 2016.
