A fire and subsequent water damage disrupted gaming operations Monday at Ocean Casino Resort, forcing the cancellation of a slot tournament and limiting hotel operations.

Atlantic City firefighters responded to the resort at about 5:30 a.m. after a reported fire. Crews found a fire in the property's linen capture room and extinguished it, according to the Atlantic City Fire Department.

During firefighting operations, a significant water release caused heavy water flow through parts of the resort, leading to a large ceiling collapse in the lobby and water intrusion into elevator shafts and back-of-house hallways, fire officials said. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Ocean Casino Resort said a burst water pipe and the resulting damage left slot machines, table games and sports betting unavailable Monday. The hotel remained open with limited capacity, while restaurants, pools and other amenities continued operating.

The casino also canceled its scheduled $30,000 Slot Tournament and said Avila Lounge service would be relocated to TopGolf until further notice.

Ocean Casino Resort said it would continue providing updates on its website.
