Republicans are blasting Gov. Jon Corzine for the resignation of the assistant U.S. attorney who received an undisclosed loan from Chris Christie.
GOP leaders are pinning the blame for Michele Brown's resignation on the Corzine campaign, accusing them of smearing her name for political gain. Corzine says his camp is not to blame and has pointed out opposition research did not unearth the loan issue.
Brown resigned Tuesday. She said she doesn't want to be a distraction to her office.
