Monmouth County Freeholder Director Tom Arnone says they are well prepared to start reopening, beginning with beaches and boardwalks.
Arnone also says he is in direct contact with all mayors and town leaders, helping advise them what their best plan of action is. Part of that plan involves getting restaurants and businesses back open, because summer tourism relies on more than just walking the boardwalk and sitting on the sand.

But ultimately, that word will have to come from Gov. Phil Murphy, but Arnone says they're doing everything possible to make the transition quick, and organized.

"Whatever our municipalities want to do,” says Arnone. “We don't tell them what to do, but we tell them we will assist them with what they are doing and that's our ultimate goal. So, as you will see, we will continue from our tourism department and work daily with dialogue with our municipalities"

Arnone says in the coming days, he will meet with the business chambers and mayors of all municipalities in Monmouth County to finalize the reopening process.
