Freehold Township community mourns death of school principal

The Freehold Township community is mourning the death of a popular principal at the Joseph Catena Elementary School.
Dr. Jeffrey Huguenin died over the weekend at just 46 years old. 
The Howell resident spent the last six years as principal of the elementary school.
He was also an adjunct professor at Georgian Court University.
Condolences are already being shared on Twitter, including a tweet from Jessica Senna, a guidance counselor at the school.
Senna writes, "Our hearts are very heavy and we are filled with sadness. Sending love and prayers out to Beth and his girls, and to all of us who need it. Please see or talk to someone today or any day if you need to we have a lot of support at Catena and are here to help.”
The superintendent of Freehold Borough Public Schools, Rocco Tomazic, writing, "All of us in the Freehold Borough Schools send our condolences the family of Dr. Huguenin to the Catena elementary school community and to our neighbor k-8 district freehold township.”


Services are scheduled for Thursday and Friday at the Clayton McGirr Funeral Home on Elton-Adelphia Road.
Huguenin leaves behind a wife and two daughters.
