A Flatbush family says it has now received the correct sized DSNY trash bins after speaking to News 12 about the mishap Monday.
The family reached out to News 12 to help resolve the problem after they spent nearly $450 on eight of the mandatory bins. They bought the bins for themselves, their daughter and the remainder for their church.
However, the sizes and specific types of bins they received were wrong.
Eleanor Riley showed News 12 her paper trail with Otto, the manufacturer of the bins, which works closely with DSNY.
DSNY told News 12 that this was Otto’s responsibility to handle. However, they said they would also look into it.
