First day of Ramadan begins today. Here's a list of events happening in Bergen County

The Eid Committee of New Jersey is hosting a series of Ramadan crescent lighting events that are open to the public across Bergen County.

Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar observed by Muslim’s worldwide, began at sundown Sunday evening.

The religious holiday runs until Tuesday, April 9, and is known as a month of fasting, prayer, reflection and community. Today starts the first day of fasting.

The Eid Committee of New Jersey is hosting a series of Ramadan crescent lighting events that are open to the public across Bergen County.
