Firefighters respond to 3-alarm fire in Newark

One adult was transported to University Hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation.

Firefighters responded to a three-alarm fire shortly before noon on Easter Sunday at a residential building on Summer Avenue in Newark.
Upon arrival, firefighters determined that the blaze spanned two floors of the building. The surrounding residencies were also exposed to the flames.
One adult was transported to University Hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation.
No other injuries were reported, and authorities say the fire was considered under control shortly after noon.
