Emergency crews were called out to East Jersey State Prison Friday evening due reports of a fire.

Officials tell News 12 New Jersey that the fire started inside a furniture workshop on the prison’s campus — but not inside the prison itself.

No inmates or staff were hurt.

Crews were able to put out the fire. The cause was not immediately released.
