Passaic Valley Water Commission crews are replacing a fire hydrant near the intersection of Paulison and Pennington avenues in Passaic, the utility announced.
Customers in the immediate area may experience temporary water discoloration or a brief loss of water service while work is underway.
The utility advises customers who notice discolored water after service is restored to run cold water from the lowest tap in their home until it runs clear.
