A 22-year-old woman was killed in a motorcycle crash early Tuesday morning on Route 23 South in Pequannock Township, authorities said.
Pequannock police responded to the single-vehicle crash around 2:40 a.m., according to the Morris County Prosecutor's Office.
The motorcycle rider was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity was not included in the statements released by authorities.
Route 23 South was closed at Newark-Pompton Turnpike in Pompton Plains while police investigated the crash.
The roadway has since reopened, according to a subsequent Nixle alert, which advised drivers to expect delays in the area.
