Two day care workers accused of encouraging preschoolers to fight pleaded not guilty at the courthouse in Elizabeth Friday morning.
Erica Kenny, 22, and Chanese White, 28, were charged with cruelty and neglect. Neither had an attorney when they entered their pleas. Both were released without bail and are due back in court Oct. 15.
They allegedly encouraged children as young as 4 years old to have fist fights and then recorded those fights.
The Lightbridge Academy fired both of them after charges were announced Tuesday. The day care provider apologized to parents and called the case an isolated incident.
