Former Princeton football player Martin "Tiger" Bech has been killed in Wednesday's
truck attack in New Orleans according to a social media post from his brother.
In a
post on X, Jack Bech wrote, "Love you always brother ! You inspired me everyday now you get to be with me in every moment. I got this family T, don't worry. This is for us"
Tiger Bech, 28, graduated in 2021.
According to his Princeton biography, Tiger Bech was a Louisiana native and a wide receiver.
In
a statement, Princeton Head Coach Bob Surace said, "He was a 'Tiger' in every way - a ferocious competitor with endless energy, a beloved teammate and a caring friend. Our last conversation was about how proud I was of the growth he showed during his time at Princeton and the success he was having after graduation. My love goes to the entire Bech family."
According to the school, Tiger Bech was a member of the 2016 and 2018 Ivy League Championship team. He earned two All-Ivy Honors as a return specialist for the team.
News 12 has learned another Princeton alum and former teammate of Tiger Bech's was injured in the attack.
In a statement, President of Lansdale Catholic High School Meghan Callen, said, Quigley was "a beloved member of the Lansdale Catholic High School Class of 2016. We are incredibly proud of him, and we are hopeful and praying for his complete and full recovery."
