Nearly two dozen people were displaced following a three-alarm fire that gutted several units and burned through the roof of a condominium complex in East Windsor, Mercer County on Monday afternoon.
According to the Red Cross, 47 people were displaced from the 24-unit condominium building. East Windsor police says all residents from the K building were evacuated and no one was injured due to the fire.
Smoke and flames could be seen shooting through the roof at the American Way condominiums. The Robbinsville Township Fire Department says the blaze burned the roof off two-thirds of the building. Police say each of the 24 condos within the K building sustained fire and/or water damage. They say the entire structure was deemed uninhabitable.
The community set up a GoFundMe page to help displaced residents and first responders. The Red Cross says it is also assisting.
According to police, the fire is believed to be non-suspicious. The cause of the remains under investigation by the East Windsor Township Police Department and the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office.
