East Orange mayor threatens to shut down businesses early, ban all outdoor gatherings

The mayor of East Orange, as well as the East Orange City Council and Department of Health and Human Services, are taking an aggressive stance to reduce the rising COVID-19 numbers in the city, telling neighbors to report anyone not wearing a mask or practicing social distancing.
Mayor Ted Green is threatening to shut down businesses early and ban all outdoor gatherings.
The city saw nearly 150 cases this month -- nearly triple what was identified in September. East Orange is right behind Newark with the second highest number of positive cases in Essex County.
