(AP) - A New Jersey woman has admitted punching a 22-month-old girl she was baby-sitting, causing the child's death.
Latoya Davis of East Orange pleaded guilty Wednesday toaggravated manslaughter. Under her plea agreement, the 23-year-oldDavis faces 10 years in state prison and must serve 85 percent ofthe term without parole eligibility. Sentencing is scheduled forNov. 20.
Prosecutors say she was baby-sitting the child on Aug. 14, 2007,at her boyfriend's home in East Orange. Davis became angry when thechild wouldn't sit still to have her hair brushed and punched herin the stomach three times.
The child suffered a lacerated liver and pancreas.
