Demand soars for smaller turkeys as size of Thanksgiving gatherings dwindle

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends not traveling this holiday to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

With fewer family members expected to gather for Thanksgiving this year due to the pandemic, there is a sharper demand for smaller turkeys.
News 12’s Hilary Lane was at Goffe Road Poultry Farm in Wyckoff on Saturday, which sold out of smaller turkeys on Thursday.
The same is true at other locations across the state, where the only birds that remain are between 17-19 pounds.
