Crews repair 12-inch water main break in Jersey City
Utility crews have repaired a 12-inch water main break that impacted traffic around Hudson County for most of Wednesday.
The break happened on Tonnelle Avenue between Carlton Avenue and Spruce Street around 6 a.m.
Repairs lasted throughout the evening commute. Crews did remain on the scene to fix a valve after the water main was fixed.
SUEZ Communications Director Madeline Power said that crews were forced to excavate the roadway to repair the break.
Some residual traffic delays may last into the morning.
Power said updates on the status of the repair effort would be posted on SUEZ’s Twitter and Facebook pages.
