A couple in Jersey City says that they were targeted by scam artists. They couple says that two men posing as utility workers came to the door but turned out to be thieves.
The couple, Anthony Manziano and Josephine Nawrocki, who are both in their 80s say that the thieves made off with thousands of dollars in cash and jewels.
Both are telling their story to let people know thieves are out there, posing as utility workers. Authorities have stressed you should always check for ID, and call the utility company if you're not sure work is going on in your area.
