Both Gov. Jon Corzine and Republican gubernatorial candidate Chris Christie tried to distance themselves from Thursday's statewide corruption sting.
The gubernatorial candidates voiced disgust at the breadth of the arrests.
"The scope of corruption ? it's outrageous," said Corzine. "I will not tolerate even the hint of corruption."
Christie echoed similar sentiments, saying any politician charged with a crime should resign immediately.
