Family, friends, as well as members of the community came together Saturday to mourn the three college-aged students who were killed execution-style in a Newark schoolyard.
Twenty-year-old Dashon Harvey, 18-year-old Terrance Aeriel and 20-year-old Iofemi Hightower were killed during the robbery attempt.
Friends said the three shared a love of music. They described Aeriel as spiritual. He was an ordained minister, band member and a drum major in college. ?He?s a young man any mother would be proud to say ?that?s my son,?? friend Shirley Riles said.
Friends of Hightower said the 20-year-old was as a talented percussionist. They said she was the former captain of her high school marching band and a hard worker.
Harvey was pursuing a degree in psychology and would have begun his third year at Delaware State University this fall.
Governor Jon Corzine and Mayor Cory Booker were among the hundreds who attended the funerals Saturday.
