The Cape May County Zoo announced the loss of two beloved snow leopards on Friday evening.

Officials say 13-year-old Maliha was euthanized in April due to an unexpected medical event.

Bataar, 18, was euthanized in early June after a year of treatment for age-related health conditions.

The pair were crowd favorites at the zoo and often spotted together on their outdoor platform.

Officials say they were placed together as a breeding pair by the Snow Leopard Species Survival Program but never produced cubs.
