Christmas night standoff ends with Mays Landing man in custody

A man is charged with attempted murder after a Christmas night incident in Mays Landing.
Hamilton police say 69-year-old Stephen Pofi showed up to a house on North Street where his wife was with a knife and a handgun.
Officials said he fired the gun before officers arrived. The victim got out of the house unharmed.
When police tried to speak with Pofi, he refused and fired the gun again, this time in the direction of officers.
Pofi was later taken into custody.
