First responders rescued a person from a boat that caught fire Thursday afternoon off the coast of Perth Amboy.

First responders rescued a person from a boat that caught fire Thursday afternoon off the coast of Perth Amboy.
The Perth Amboy Fire Department says that crews responded to the waterfront around 5:20 p.m. When they arrived, they found one person on the boat.
Video given to News 12 New Jersey of the rescue shows the back of the boat engulfed in flames. Marine 5 responded to the scene, rescued the person on the boat and extinguished the fire.
New Jersey state police also responded. They say that the boat is a 16-foot Boston Whaler. State police say that they are investigating the cause of the fire, but say it appears to have originated in the engine.
There were no reports of injuries. The boat will be removed by the owner.
