Candlelight vigil held for officer killed by train
A candlelight vigil was held Tuesday evening for a Linden police officer killed by a New Jersey Transit train.
Hundreds of people gathered in Linden’s Dobson Park to honor Linden Police Officer Daniel Kuczynski.
Kuczynski died Monday morning when he was struck by the train near Stiles Street.
The officer was a 20-year veteran of the police force. He also served as the director of the Linden Police Athletic League.
“I want my children to group up to be like DK. I want my children to have his level of character,” Linden Police Chief Jonathan Parham said.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday.
The circumstances surrounding Kuczynski’s death are being investigated by Amtrak police.
