A Bridgeton man faces charges of aggravated assault on law enforcement after a fight with police in Somerset County.

Manville police say the incident began when officers responded to a call that he was threatening a child.

Prosecutors say Derick Donel Lewis Jr. left the scene and was later arrested at the Somerville train station.

Police say he elbowed an officer in the face and broke her finger during the arrest.

Prosecutors say Lewis also had an active warrant for a robbery in Monmouth County.
