A woman on the run from the law in three New Jersey counties was finally caught in Chicago, Illinois by a bounty hunter.
Janki Parikh is remembered as a customer at a Clifton hair salon who allegedly bounced a check, returned to the establishment and blamed it on her evil twin sister. The staff at the salon say Parikh was charming and promised to make good on what ?her sister? did.
Bounty hunter Louis Faccone, of Northeast Fugitive Recovery, Inc., says, ?She?s good at what she does, I give her credit for that.?
Faccone spent a month tracking Parikh?s movements after she allegedly skipped bail in Passaic and Middlesex counties. He says he almost caught her in Toms River, where he uncovered what appeared to be a bogus ID operation.
Using phone records, Faccone tracked Parikh, 23, and her husband to Chicago, where police arrested the couple. The Philadelphia woman is facing charges in Middlesex, Passaic and Bergen counties, including theft by deception, credit card theft, forgery and impersonating a police officer.
Parikh waived extradition in Chicago. There is no word yet on when she?ll be returned to New Jersey. Authorities say she reached a plea deal for the Middlesex County charges and is awaiting sentencing.
