Residents in Somerset County are celebrating a victory against a local quarry. The Bernards Township Committee voted to temporarily stop soil deliveries at the Millington Quarry on Stonehouse Road. The ban is due to concerns over the soil's chemical content. There were reports last November that soil test samples had high levels of chemicals. The reports said the chemicals included arsenic, copper, lead and zinc.Attorneys for the quarry claim the ban will have a negative impact on business and force the company to lay off employees. The ban is scheduled to go into effect April 1.
