Monmouth University’s Alpha Phi Sigma’s Criminal Justice Honor Society held its 7th annual Paws for a Cause event on Wednesday to help pay for bulletproof vests for specially trained K-9 police dogs.
Monmouth University student Patricia Toomey said, “We just love having the dogs here. We love the whole idea of protecting the dogs that protect us.”
Last year, Toomey said the event helped raise $1,631, a record.
