Authorities: New Milford man arrested for elderly assault and reckless driving

State police say 55-year-old Jason Paul Maisonave was driving his BMW on Route 7 when he allegedly sideswiped another man's car, pulled over to the shoulder and assaulted the other driver.

A New Milford man was arrested in a road-rage incident that turned into an assault on a 78-year-old man in Brookfield, according to authorities.
State police say 55-year-old Jason Paul Maisonave was driving his BMW on Route 7 when he allegedly sideswiped another man's car, pulled over to the shoulder and assaulted the other driver.
The 78-year-old victim says the suspect exited his BMW and then opened his car door, punched him in the face, grabbed his phone and threw it on the ground. He said the attacker then got back into his car and drove off.
Maisonave was later arrested at his New Milford home. His charges include reckless driving and assault of an elderly person.
Maisonave posted a $100,000 bond and is scheduled for arraignment at Danbury Superior Court on Dec. 19.
