Prosecutor: 4 charged in killing of man found in Manchester Township woods

Four men from Indiana were charged with murder more than a week after a man’s body was found in the Greenwood Wildlife Management Area in Manchester Township.
The Ocean County Prosecutor’s office says the body of 35-year-old Kuldeep Kumar, of India, was found in the wooded area on Dec. 14. Authorities believe he was killed on Oct. 22. Family members living in Ozone Park, New York, reported him missing on Oct. 26, according to officials.
Officials say Kumar was shot multiple times in the chest.
Four men were charged in connection to the killing. They were identified as Sourav Kumar, 23, Gaurav Singh, 27, Nirmal Singh, 30 and Gurdeep Singh, 22. All four men are from Greenwood, Indiana. They were charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
“The investigative efforts leading to the arrest of these defendants were nothing short of outstanding, and the teamwork exhibited by all the participating agencies truly exemplifies the best in law enforcement,” Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer wrote in a statement. “Collaborating with our law enforcement partners, particularly the FBI and NJSP, led to the identification of our victim and the swift apprehension of these defendants in Indiana. I want to express my deepest gratitude for their assistance in this investigation.”
The four men are being held at Johnson County Jail in Franklin, Indiana, pending extradition to New Jersey.
