At least two people are dead following a violent night in Newark, authorities said Monday.
Officials said the first incident was reported just before 9 p.m. Sunday near Avon and Peshine avenues, where a man was shot and killed.
A short time later, two more people were shot on Willoughby Street and Edwin Place, police said. One of the victims died and the other was taken to a hospital in critical condition, officials said.
Another person was shot in the head on South Orange and 12th streets around 11 p.m. Sunday, authorities said. The victim’s condition was not immediately clear.
The fourth and final incident was a report of a person stabbed on Irvin Turner Boulevard. Police have yet to comment on a stabbing victim.
It’s unknown at this time whether any of the incidents are possibly related.
Officials have yet to release any further details.
