The Archdiocese of Newark is making sure everyone in the Brick City is staying warm as the winter months approach.
On Tuesday, Mercy House of Newark handed out both new and used coats, hats, gloves and other winter gear as part of its annual coat giveaway.
Church leaders say the need for winter clothing is especially high this year as a result of the recent influx of migrants from warmer areas.
The Archdiocese of Newark is opening a third Mercy House location in Elizabeth. A grand opening ceremony will take place next week.
