State Attorney General Gurbir Grewal read to students at two New Jersey elementary schools on Monday - a part of "National Read Cross America Day."
Grewal read from “All Are Welcome,” a best-selling children’s book that celebrates diversity and inclusion. He visited schools in Glen Rock and Paterson. He says that the book contains a very important message for the state’s youngest residents.
“I think it’s important that we start with our young people. That we talk to them about kindness and we talk to them about tolerance,” he says. “There’s too many things going wrong right now. We see that with the
number of bias incidents that are happening across the state – in particular among our young people.”
This is the first of several planned visits to schools this month by the attorney general and his staff.
