Authorities are cracking down on motorists who repeatedly cheat the tolls on the Atlantic City Expressway.
Offenders with more than $200 in unpaid tolls will have 25 days to pay up or have their vehicle registrations suspended. The rule only applies to in-state drivers.
A similar program has already been adopted by the New Jersey Turnpike and Garden State Parkway.
Records reviewed by The Press of Atlantic City show that one company had 6,650 violations totaling more than $51,000. The newspaper says Tropiano Transportation Services has said E-ZPass transponders weren't working correctly in its vehicles.
