Paterson woman gets seven years in prison after man’s fatal overdose

The women was charged in connection to the death of Joseph S. Callari from Clifton Township after they died following the ingestion of narcotics that Cooper supplied him on July 24, 2025.

The Hunterdon County Prosecutor's Office announced that 29-year-old Shanesha M. Cooper from Paterson has been sentenced to seven years in state prison in connection with a July 2025 fatal drug overdose.

On May 1, 2026, Cooper pleaded guilty to second degree reckless manslaughter. Following that verdict Copper was investigated by the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office’s Narcotics Task Force and the Clinton Township Police Department.
