One Nassau County Italian eatery has served its last customers.

Family-owned Piccolo Ristorante of Bellmore officially closed their doors after almost 50 years in business.

The neighborhood favorite was founded in 1979 by Tom Valenti and his wife, Donna.

The owners thanked staff, present and former, for their hard work that helped keep the restaurant operating.

“While this chapter is coming to a close, we hold on to hope that it is not the end of the story, but the beginning of a new chapter yet to be written,” they said in a post on their website and social media pages.

The family also expressed gratitude to every guest who became a part of their extended Piccolo family.

They also announced that they are working with Gusto Divino in Seaford, who will honor anyone with a Piccolo gift card.
