Gov. Mikie Sherrill announced immediate utility bill relief for millions of New Jersey residents Tuesday while signing three energy bills designed to lower electricity costs and strengthen oversight of utilities and large data centers.

The package includes a $25 credit for all 3.6 million New Jersey ratepayers through the residential universal bill credit program, along with an additional $150 credit for eligible low- and moderate-income households through the residential energy assistance payment program.

The governor’s office says the administration’s energy initiatives over the past six months are expected to save New Jersey ratepayers more than $1 billion annually
