An overnight storm caused the top portion of a tree to topple onto a house in Wyckoff early Friday morning.

Crews from the Wyckoff Volunteer Fire Department responded to the Patton Place home after receiving reports of a tree on a house.

“Crews arrived and reported the top half of a tree had fallen onto the roof of the home, allowing rainwater to penetrate into the home and affect the light fixtures and ceilings,” the fire department said in a social media statement.

Firefighters secured the area and the electricity and made sure the structure was safe.

The line of storms brought heavy rain and wind through the Bergen County area in the early morning hours. No injuries to residents or first responders have been reported.
