St. Patrick's Day parades in the area this past weekend saw massive crowds and boosts to businesses.

Patrick Murphy, with the committee that puts on the Yonkers St. Patrick's Day Parade on McLean Avenue, believes there could have been up to 30,000 people there on Saturday.

Eileen Mannion, of the Heritage Bar & Restaurant, says they went through 40 kegs of Guinness while seeing customers from 9 a.m. to past midnight.

"It's one of our biggest days," said Mannion. "It's always great to meet new customers and it's always great to bump into the familiar faces again that are still around."

Bill Lee, the Pearl River parade chairman, estimates between 60,000 to 70,000 people were there for the big day which is about what they typically see.

Lee thanks all the different agencies and the locals who live in Pearl River for making the day a great one for everyone.
