A Morris Township man is killed in a car accident on Route 15 early Sunday morning.
Sparta Police report the driver, 21-year-old Ryan Mullins, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Two women were passengers in the vehicle at the time. They were able to exit the car safely after the crash and were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Based on preliminary police investigation, they were heading northbound on Route 15 when the vehicle left the roadway, hitting a guardrail.
The car became airborne and landed, overturned, in the wooded area near the highway.
Route 15 northbound was closed for roughly nine hours to conduct the investigation with the assistance of New Jersey State Police and the Sussex County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash is still under investigation.
