The woman accused of running down a young Bronx man with her car in a deadly case of road rage was back in court Wednesday.

Lillibeth Vasquez relied on a walker during her latest appearance in her murder and manslaughter trial.

Police say she was behind the wheel of a Honda Civic that slammed into a moped carrying 23-year-old Robert Jimenez in a case of road rage gone horribly wrong.

It was a Saturday afternoon in November 2023, when witnesses said what started as a tap quickly turned deadly. They told News 12 that Vasquez sped the wrong way down Fox Street and intentionally plowed into Jimenez. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he died from his injuries.

More than a year after her arrest, the Pennsylvania woman switched lawyers Wednesday. Her new attorney will now have to decide whether to use an insanity defense, despite Vasquez being found fit to stand trial during a prior appearance.

"We're going to be here every day until she pays for what she did," said Milton Jimenez, the victim's father. "The lady wants to say now that she wants to change the thing to she's crazy, and what we want - we want justice."

A decision from Vasquez's lawyer is expected at her next court appearance, scheduled for March 12th. If convicted, she faces anywhere from 15- to 25-years-to-life in prison.
