This year's Shark Week on Discovery Channel kicked off with a movie about the 1916 Spring Lake shark attacks that paralyzed the Jersey Shore.
The attacks in the summer of 1916 killed four and critically injured another. The fatalities and ensuing paranoia ultimately inspired the blockbuster 'Jaws.'
The incidents changed the way the world saw sharks.
