A 15-year-old boy was injured after an e-bike crashed into an automobile in Middletown Township on Wednesday evening, police said.
Officers responded at approximately 5:24 p.m. to the intersection of Newman Springs Road (County Road 520) and Jumping Brook Road for a report of an e-bike that had collided with a vehicle, according to the Middletown Township Police Department.
When officers arrived, they found the juvenile e-bike rider lying in the roadway. Emergency medical personnel provided treatment at the scene before the teen, a Middletown resident, was transported to Hackensack Meridian Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. His name was not released.
Police said the driver and passenger of the vehicle remained at the scene, were not injured, and cooperated with investigators.
