Gunfire strikes NJ Transit bus and parked cars in Elizabeth; 1 woman injured

A woman suffered minor injuries after gunfire struck a NJ Transit bus and two parked vehicles in Elizabeth late Wednesday, authorities said.

Police responded at approximately 9:45 p.m. to the area of Third Street and Magnolia Avenue following reports of shots fired, according to city officials.

A preliminary investigation found that two individuals fired multiple shots in the area before fleeing on foot.

Two unoccupied parked vehicles and a NJ Transit bus were struck by gunfire. One female passenger on the bus sustained minor injuries but declined medical treatment. No other injuries were reported.

The incident remains under investigation, and no arrests have been announced.
