Young boy falls from 2nd-story apartment window in Jersey City

A young boy fell out of an apartment building window in Jersey City Friday evening. It happened at 12 Rose Ave. just before 7:30 p.m. Witnesses say that the 7-year-old boy fell from the second story.

A young boy fell out of an apartment building window in Jersey City Friday evening.
It happened at 12 Rose Ave. just before 7:30 p.m. Witnesses say that the 7-year-old boy fell from the second story.
"I heard the screen pop and the kid...came down on top of the screen," one witness tells News 12 New Jersey. "His knees hit first, then his head hit the ground."
Witnesses say that the boy fell unconscious. They say that paramedics put a neck brace on the boy and took him to Jersey City Medical Center.
"He was alive because his fingers were moving," the witness says.
Authorities have not yet released any official information about the incident.
A spokesperson for the hospital says that the boy was talking and is in stable conditions. He will be transfered to a children's hospital.
