NJ Transit claims a worker may have been out of his position when a man was dragged to his death at a Bradley Beach train station.
According to police, John D?Agostino, 49, was exiting a train when he got caught in the doors and was dragged to his death. Family members say D?Agostino was on his way to visit his twin brother in Bradley Beach when the train he was originally on struck a woman earlier in the night. Authorities say it is still unclear how D?Agostino got caught in the closing doors.
In a statement to News 12 New Jersey, NJ Transit says, ?The investigation determined that a member of the train crew may not have been in the proper position at the rear of the train, as required under NJ Transit procedures. The procedures are in place to ensure that all passengers are clear of a train as it departs the station.? NJ Transit officials add that D?Agostino was the first person ever dragged to death aboard a NJ Transit train.
