A woman was badly injured after she was struck by a car in Brick just after 6 p.m.
The woman, said to be in her early 20s, was attempting to cross Hooper Avenue near Surry Lane West when she was hit by a Ford Explorer.
The driver immediately stopped and stayed on the scene.
The woman was flown to Jersey Shore Medical Center with life-threatening inquires.
Hooper Avenue is closed in the area while police investigate the accident.
