A mother of three says her house was incorrectly raided by police Thursday night in Newark.
Lavella Jackson says at least 30 officers, some with guns, stormed her house. A detective from Newark?s vice and narcotics squad executed a search warrant of the home. Jackson says officers searched her cupboards and furniture looking for heroin and cocaine. However, they came up empty-handed.
?And that?s when they came downstairs and said, ?We didn?t find [anything]. You?re clean, we?re sorry,?? Jackson says.
Jackson says she is outraged and wants some sort of compensation. The police department says Jackson needs to file a report with internal affairs about the raid. Jackson says she does plan to file a report and has already contacted her lawyer.
