Fire officials say one person was killed in an overnight two-alarm fire in Bridgewater Township.
Somerset County Prosecutor Geoffrey Soriano said that 44-year-old Lisa Hook was found unresponsive on the living room floor of her smoke-filled home early Monday morning.
Police and fire personnel performed CPR on Hook and she was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The fire broke out at around 4:30 a.m. at the Bridle Club at Bridgewater condominium complex on Robinson Court.
North Branch Volunteer Fire Company Fire Chief Dave Hickson says approximately eight units are uninhabitable due to fire damage.
Bridgewater police and Somerset County Prosecutor's Office arson task force are working to determine the cause of the fire.
The American Red Cross is helping residents who were displaced find housing.
